REKO static and vibrating screens:
waterproof system for liquid solid separation
REKO screens are uncomplicated devices for the separation of solids from process and waste water flows.
The REKO screens are distinguishable from others by the unique ?shear? effect continuous operation, and simple construction-benefitting from a high capacity for a low investment.
Working principle of the REKO static screen
Liquid is fed either by gravity or pump pressure via the admission chamber over the full screen width, to pass over the curved slotted screen plate. As the screen is curved, the dynamic force increases the screen capacity. A hinged partition ensures maximum useage of the screen and causes the liquid to reach the screen at an increased velocity. The clarified liquid passes through the slotted screen to flow to the outlet connection. The separated solid particles continuously slide down the screen surface to be collected in a container, screw conveyor, or dewatering press.
The heart of the installation is formed by the screen plate which is made up of triangular profiled bars, welded onto support rods at a slight forward facing angle (see drawing).
Due to this construction the liquid is ?sheared? by the bars, and under the influence of flow velocity and adhesive forces, passed through the screen. A further benefit of the wedge wire is that the smallest opening is on the screen surface and therefore any particles passing through the screen will be cleared by the liquid flow.
Thanks to these qualities the REKO static screen is self cleaning and insensitive to obstruction - and no moving parts.
The REKO vibrating screen
The REKO vibrating screen has been specifically designed to handle greasy and difficult applications. By vibrating the screenplate, the greasy material does not adhere to the plate, and passes readily over it. This vibrating screen is particularly suited to large concentrations of solids due to its method of handling effluent quickly and continuously.
REKO screens can be supplied with either stainless steel or glassfiber reinforced polyester housings.
Spraying/brush system
As an extra option a linear driven spray system is available, which, dependant upon application, will decide whether this be a high or low pressure system, or that the addition of a brush may be considered. |
