มาตรการส่วนหนึ่งของ คาโอ เพื่อลดปริมาณคาร์บอน ได้แก่ โครงการการใช้พลังงานหมุนเวียน เช่น โซล่าเซลล์เพื่อทดแทนพลังงานไฟฟ้าที่ผลิตจากเชื้อเพลิงฟอสซิล ลดปริมาณวัตถุดิบที่ไม่จำเป็น และส่งเสริมการใช้พลาสติกรีไซเคิลและวัตถุดิบที่ได้จากพืช การพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ประหยัดน้ำ และลดการใช้พลาสติกในบรรจุภัณฑ์
